I'm a singer with a love of technology, sound, and gadgets.
When I was a student and young artist, I made several recordings with whatever equipment was available for student use at my school, whatever I could borrow, or with engineers who knew a lot about sound but very little about the intricacies of the classically trained voice. The results were less than flattering.
I knew that I loved playing with sound and I found that there was a real need for the emerging artist to have quality recording and editing services at an affordable price. I found that many of my colleagues were frustrated with the fact that they had a hard time fitting all of the colors of their sizeable voices onto a little file that they could send to agents, put on their websites, or use for applications. They hated recording in the tiny, dead studios that many engineers offer, and they didn't want the final product to sound too "edited." Plus, budget was always a concern since the few people who do this incredibly well had prices that were out of reach for many rising singers.
I connected with sound engineering mentors at WTTW Chicago, WFMT Radio, and TC Furlong to learn the art and science of capturing and reproducing the voice in a way that accurately reflects the experience you would enjoy at a live performance.
As I continued my own performing career, I've had the pleasure of collaborating on recording projects with incredibly talented singers across the country. I know how intimidating the recording process can be, so I do what I can to make every singer's experience comfortable, encouraging, and positive.
I have access to several halls in Chicago that create the right environment for beautiful recordings, but I'm also happy to travel to any location to accommodate your project. I make frequent trips to New York City and I'm able to bring all of my equipment on the road with me.
